Check out Twenty-Nine Fresh Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander Deck!)
The world's beloved pizza-loving heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The popular TCG's company, the game's creators, unveiled a highly anticipated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Could this be a radical new set or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? Let you be the judge.
Take a look below at everything revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key background. Everything listed here releases on March 6, 2026, except for one item — a special Pizza Bundle arrives a couple of weeks after on March 27th.
MTG x TMNT: Main Set Reveals
Before diving into all the various unique products and collections available, we’ll examine at the full lineup from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the set are priced at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per booster.
Let's unpack a few surprising features. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic named Sneak, inspired by the pre-existing Ninjutsu, in which players can play powerful creatures into the battlefield when an attacker isn’t blocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to spells that aren’t creatures too. The designers also took the opportunity to refine the mechanic a little (Sneak counts as playing a spell, unlike Ninjutsu). Ninjutsu isn't going away, but chances are players will encounter Sneak in future sets moving forward.
Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu since that's where it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer explained. “But in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and the new ability is what's going to be Standard-legal, it’s probable that we'd use Sneak.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is one of four cards with unique artwork designed specifically for the set by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator the co-creator.
Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards outside of your deck, many players were. But according to Wizards, it’s now a legal card in every format of Magic.
Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from the TMNT set:
As per Wizards of the Coast's existing guidelines, these cards are all legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they were careful to ensure the cards and mechanics worked smoothly with other Standard sets like Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we were aware it would be Standard-legal and what other sets were going to be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer says. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with certain expansions including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a Izzet strategy focused on artifact cards.
“They mesh together to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard deck,” he says.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power!
After declining to design any pre-constructed Commander decks for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your commander depending on how you pair them (five cards include a unique partner ability named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command area rather than only one). Take a look for yourself:
The Turtle Power deck is set at $69.99, although the price may rise due to demand. Sources indicated that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which translates to an extra thirty-seven Turtle-themed game cards besides the six legendary commanders shown earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprints if we assume the precon comes with 37 lands.)
How will the TMNT edition of the iconic Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Standard Edition)
As per usual, the company is offering a bundle. This one costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:
- 9 Standard Boosters
- Fifteen Foil basic lands
- Fifteen Non-foil land cards
- Two helper cards
- 1 Traditional foil promo card
- One Large life tracker

Pizza Bundle
This is a unique concept for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, primarily because it comes in what looks like a pizza box. Every Pizza Bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

- 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
- 5 Traditional foil pizza-themed lands

For those curious about the “pizza bundle promo” is, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. The team revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of Splinter adding black licorice pieces onto a pizza. In total, there are six distinct Pizza Bundle promo cards available.
This special bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

This unique product is made for a four-player draft and costs $119.99. It includes:

Turtle Team-Up
Finally, Wizards are introducing a new concept with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its continued initiative to develop Magic products aimed at new players. Here, the cooperative set is a unique product of decks that allow two players join forces to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.
The general idea is that each Boss card grants unique powers to the creatures contained in the Boss deck. The Boss automatically casts an additional card per turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
